Sharp strategy, creative thinking and a little bit of magic is how I like to get there. I help you build a brand and marketing presence that is commercially clear, recognisable and true to the business behind it.
I can help you when you are building something you genuinely believe in and want other people to see the value of too. You care about quality, originality and where the business is going. You want a brand with character, marketing that helps people understand the value of what you do and a presence that feels unmistakably yours. That can be for a completely new business, a growing company, an established name or a founder becoming a bigger part of the brand.
Bring me the question, the project or the entire slightly chaotic folder. We will make sense of it together and I’ll get to work.
I can offer you a sharp strategy session to clarify your positioning, untangle an idea or work out the next move. Or I can take it from idea to execution: a new visual identity, logo, website, launch, content direction, marketing framework, or the idea that has been living half-finished in your head for six months.
The work can be as focused or as multifaceted as your business needs it to be. I can hold the bigger picture, make sense of the moving parts and create what needs to exist next.
You always work directly with me. If the project needs another specialist, I bring the right person in, but I stay closely involved and remain your point of contact throughout.
There is serious strategic thinking behind everything I create with you, but the process itself is creative, fast-moving and fun.
I quickly understand what makes a business work: what you are building, what makes it valuable, who you need to reach and what the brand needs to achieve commercially. From there, we can move. Fast.
A new brand, logo and website within four weeks is not unusual. I work quickly because I am comfortable moving between strategy, positioning, copy, creative direction, branding and digital execution without treating every part as a separate little universe. Your business is the only universe I am here to amplify.
Commercial thinking is always part of the work, and no, that does not mean boring. Your brand should always carry your energy, taste, personality and point of view. It should feel like something you are genuinely proud to put your name behind, not something that could have been made for six other businesses in your industry, while still doing its commercial job exceptionally well.

I genuinely enjoyed the entire process of building my website with Merel. A new website, logo and branding is usually something you can easily start dreading. It costs time, money and energy, and there is so much to think about. Working with Merel felt different. The branding evolved naturally alongside the website, from typography and colour to the wider visual world. It felt less like working through a fixed checklist and more like the brand was becoming clearer as we were building it.
The process was extremely professional and clearly structured. She knew exactly what she needed from me, the intake was thorough, everything was organised beautifully and the different stages felt very well defined. That structure made it much easier for me to move quickly and meant we got the website live much faster than I expected.
At the same time, the process never felt rigid. There was still room for fun, creativity, flexibility, new ideas and last-minute changes. There was a little bit of magic in the way things were allowed to unfold too. If something suddenly clicked, there was room to follow it. If a better idea appeared along the way, we could move with it.
That combination was probably my favourite part: everything felt considered and professionally managed, while there was still enough freedom for the creative process to stay alive.
The whole project felt much lighter and more enjoyable than I expected a website project to feel, while still moving quickly and feeling incredibly professional from start to finish.
Laura is on a mission to get better-for-you brands out of the niche and onto supermarket shelves.
For her brand Wayfound, I created the complete brand identity and brought it through into her digital presence. We explored eleven different logo directions before refining the final identity, including a standalone brand mark and typographic logo with custom lettering. I developed the typography, colour palette, custom icons and brand elements, and designed the full website and blog.
The brand and website developed alongside each other, which gave us room to keep refining both as the work took shape. Colours shifted, typography evolved, new visual elements appeared and better ideas were followed when they came along. I also refined the website copy based on Laura’s content and ideas, and took care of the SEO and analytics setup behind the scenes.
And a big thank you to Laura for being such a good person to build with. For the quick answers, thoughtful feedback, clear decisions and the freedom to chase a better idea when one appeared. Laura knows her industry inside out and is doing work that genuinely moves it forward, helping better-for-you brands make the leap onto supermarket shelves and into the mainstream. Building the brand behind someone with that much knowledge, ambition and willingness to do things differently was a very good project to get to be part of.
Working with Merel feels like a combination of clarity, direction and magic.
Beforehand, I had a lot of doubt. Was I doing things right? What should actually be in my personal brand? Where should I begin? What kind of content suited me and my work? I could feel very clearly what I wanted to create, but I did not yet know how to translate that into something concrete.
Merel helped me turn that into a much clearer direction. We sharpened my social media strategy and positioning and made the next steps very practical, from my Instagram bio to content ideas and a clearer marketing direction.
What I valued most was the way she combines the practical side of marketing with a much more intuitive layer. She does not only look at what is strategically smart. She also pays attention to what genuinely fits you and the work you are building. That gave me so much more confidence. The steps we came up with did not feel like things I “should” be doing because a marketing model says so. They felt like steps that actually belonged to me.
I loved that I did not have to choose between the practical world of marketing and the more magical world I work in myself. Merel speaks both languages, from concrete social media advice to a channelled glitter-spitting fire creature.
I went into the work questioning whether I was doing things right and left with practical next steps, a clear direction and much more trust in what I am building.
